I have made the iTunesU course and will begin to make the videos for the lessons. The good news is that in order to make the videos I will need to know how to do the steps so I will learn more about iMovie as well!
I am hoping that this gives kids the confidence to review the videos in iTunesU while they are creating their movies to help them when they are using the app.
I still have to think of what we will create a video of, but I am leaning towards a math topic. Then they could put their video into their math reference book. A math topic would lend itself to a movie being created that contains short videos, photos, voice overs, text and transitions. All of the elements that I would like them to learn.
If this goes well with grade five I may end up using this course for grades three and four. I hope to begin to bring in iMovie on some level into each of these grades as another way for students to be able to show their understanding of topics that they are learning. I think that I could even go as low as Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten with them just dropping in pictures and then stringing them together in a movie.
